My name is Aaron Slayter, Jr., and I am the Chief Executive Officer of Slayter Companies. I want to tell you what an honor it is for me to represent the Slayter family. We are a second-generation company and look forward to continuing into future generations. This organization has been in business since 1979. The business started with my father as he pursued an opportunity to enter into the waste paper business. The foundation he laid has enabled us to move into other business ventures, as God has led, over the past 30 years.  We are thankful and excited about the opportunities for us to be in so many different ventures such as buying and selling waste paper, over-the-road transportation and specialized heavy haul transportation. In addition, we have a livestock division where we raise exotic cross-bred cattle for show cattle and herd stock, and we offer guided wild game hunts on the unique River Rouge Plantation along the Red River. We know these business ventures are God-led, and we look to use each of these platforms to impact peoples’ lives.

               The priority of my life is my relationship with Christ.  My life, my marriage, my children, my relationships and my businesses are His. That means whichever direction He gives me in relation to these areas, I pursue.  As a result, Slayter Companies' purpose of being in business is not to assemble the best team of people, to make the most money, or to even be the best in the industries in which we serve, but to allow these organization to be led by God as we discover more of God's character.  This means that I have gone in directions that did not make sense to anyone, including myself. These directions have defied business principles and common sense. What God speaks by the Holy Spirit through circumstances, other believers, and His word is the basis of the direction of this company. I believe that success in life is having an intimate relationship with God which means following the direction He gives regardless of the results. Profits, ratios, and other results don’t dictate success or failure.

 I have a passion for other people to know God in an intimate way. I want people to have what I have, and that’s Him. There is no doubt that God has placed me and the Slayter family in the business world. God is using Slayter Companies to show me and others how, by trusting God and following His lead, He can meet our every need. We just have to allow Him to do so by giving Him control. The key is letting Him be more important that our ambitions, more important than profits and even more important than people and self.
